Working closely with their creative and marketing teams, we spent nearly four months fine-tuning every scene and the storyboard, so that when it came time to shoot, we knew exactly what we wanted to achieve.
With this film, I wanted to visualize how the entire collection took shape from, actually, very simple design principles. The goal was to feel as if we’re looking into Bjarke Ingels’ mind as the ideas unfold. The film also explores key sources of inspiration that led to these concepts—the Danish maritime culture, the Japanese art of shibari rope binding, and a general raw aesthetic.
Growing up, I was always fascinated by architecture and thought that would be my path—until a friend’s dad told me, “You’re never going to find a job in that industry.” So, I pivoted.
I remember making a presentation in 9th grade about Bjarke Ingels and his way of working; I was a fan from that moment on. So, getting the chance to work with him, Jacob Lange, and their team was truly a dream come true. One of the major obstacles we faced was wanting to film in their new office, which wasn’t even finished yet. I envisioned big, empty concrete rooms showcasing the most striking architectural details. The challenge was that we had just 1.5 days at the office, shared with 30-40 construction workers.
After a lot of smiles and compliments to the construction manager, we managed to get just enough footage for the film.
